Living Your Yoga off the mat: Karuna = Compassion

'When given the choice of being right or being kind, choose kind,' Dr. Wayne Dyer

There's been a lot of 'crazy' energy out there the last couple weeks - between a full moon, Venus & Mercury both in retrograde, Halloween, the time change, and an election... It's been a little bonkers! What better time to hold compassion for yourself? And for others? You can imagine that if you're feeling these 'crazy' energies, so is everyone else, each of us just trying to do our best through it. So as Dr. Dyer says, perhaps 'choose [being] kind.'

Sidebar: the result of the elections will inevitably leave some disappointed or even angry. In these polarizing times, perhaps we might all choose to hold compassion for those who are struggling with the results, rather than trying to prove a point? And THAT...is a way to practice Karuna.

With many wishes for a gentle landing out of these last couple weeks, and courage to see a kind path forward this week ~ In Metta (loving kindness) ~ Jen
